Sheriff selling t-shirts used in Ozzy Osbourne sting for charity
North Dakota's KXNet.com reports that a law enforcement sting before the Ozzy Osbourne concert in Fargo has started an unexpected fundraiser for a local non-profit organization.

Requests are flooding in to the Cass County Sheriff's office for these t-shirts. Deputies wore them during a sting last month to catch people with outstanding warrants. Now orders are coming in from Ohio to New York. Sheriff Paul Laney says he's using the shirts popularity as a way to raise money for the United Way.

Commented Laney: "The t-shirt just became the image and look of what happened with that event, and people wanted one. Initially we weren't going to do anything with it, but as I thought about it, I thought, 'Hey, what a way to give back to the community through something that happened ? something positive.' So we'll give [every] penny raised to the United Way."

You can get your t-shirt for 20-dollars at the Cass County Sheriff's Office. Already seven dozen have been sold and another four dozen are on order.

According to The Associated Press, Laney's department sent out 500 letters to people with outstanding warrants, inviting them to a phony party at a local nightclub before Osbourne's concert with Rob Zombie last month at the Fargodome. The offer included two free tickets to the show.

More than 30 people showed up and were arrested. They were being sought on charges ranging from delinquent child support payments to traffic and drug fines.

Osbourne said in a statement that the sting tarnished his reputation by implying his concerts attract criminals.

The sheriff's department was not specifically targeting the Osbourne concert, Laney said. "That show came up during the time we were dealing with the situation," he said.
